Diego Cruz Coronato is a painter and multidisciplinary artist whose work stages humorous, enigmatic, and defiant narratives. Born into an immigrant family in Caracas, Venezuela, he draws on that displacement and the visual culture of his heritage to build images that are at once playful and unsettling. His figures hover between the cute and the uncanny, the sensual and the innocent, the nostalgic and the strange.
He holds a BFA in Visual Arts with a Minor in Curatorial Practice from Emily Carr University of Art and Design and previously studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Now based in Paris, he maintains an active studio practice alongside his work in the management of a cultural institution.
He can be reached at cruzcoronato@gmail.com for, exhibitions, studio visits, and commissions, and prints are available through his store.
